Michael Ainsworth is Executive Vice President of Ainsworth Lumber Co. Ltd., with responsibility for Finance, Human Resources, Information Technology, Timberlands, and Business Development. Prior to becoming executive Vice President, Michael was Sr. Vice President of Marketing and Business Development for Ainsworth. Michael received a Bachelor of Science degree in Forestry (Wood Science) and a Master of Science degree in Forest Products Marketing, both from the University of British Columbia. In addition to his duties at Ainsworth, Michael also serves on the Board of Trustees of The APA – The Engineered Wood Association.

Michael lives in Vancouver, B.C. with his wife, Bette, and two teenage daughters, Amanda and Caitlyn, and is one of three grandsons of the company founders, David and Susan Ainsworth. Michael has played an active role in transforming Ainsworth from a small, private B.C.-based lumber producer to the fourth largest producer of Oriented Strand Board in North America with operations in British Columbia, Alberta, Ontario, and Minnesota.
